very similar to my choices. I have about 5 telent points different.

I definitely agree to none in improved reincarnation and natures guardian. these are only needed if you don't trust your raid group.

Interesting to see none in healing way but I suppose that is more old school when we were dedicated MT healers. With the decreased reliance on other healers for  decurse we have developed into raid heal specialists. Lets see what our role is in WOTLK.

P.S. I think healing way is essential for 5 mans where you are the only healers and most heals are directed to tank.

My reason for not having healing way is well... lets face it. Shamans spam Chain heal. simple fact.
However with the added talent "Tidal Waves" (see below) it seems more desireable to spam Riptide on CD and chain heal, only using lesser/ healing wave when you need to via the Tidal Waves proc.

Tidal Waves   Rank 5
You have a 100% chance after you cast Chain Heal or Riptide to lower
the cast time of your next 2 Lesser Healing Wave or Healing Wave spells by 30%.
In addition, your Healing Wave gains an additional 20% of your bonus
healing effects and your Lesser Healing Wave gains an additional 10%
of your bonus healing effects.

I was always against putting points into imp reinc until I looked up some top end raiding guilds shaman. Once I moved some points to it I found how valuable it is to have that extra 20% mana when you pop during combat. Do not underestimate the power of this, as we all know not everything does to plan. Healers do die, raids do take damage (read as you will get spell knockback on some encounters).

Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is the probable reason why so few engage in it.

Interesting talent builds Dah, similar to mine on the resto side of things.
I am not sure having 5 points in totemic focus is worth it. Especially with most totems now lasting 5 minutes now. When you are in a boss fight now you only need to put them down once and not really have to worry about. With those 5 points I would be tempted to put 3 points in Elemental Weapons and either keep 2 points in totemic focus or put them in nature's guardian or improved reincarnation.

Having tidal waves as a talent now has pretty much made healing way redundant. Healing way was great when we had downranked spells, you do healing wave(rank1-6) on the MT and spam the ham chain heals. Having tidal waves talent gives 20% and 10% bonus heals on healing wave and lesser healing wave respectively which now effects any target instead of one with healing way talent.

Something to think about now having these new spells: earthliving weapon and having 3 points in improved water shield which returns mana for a critical heal. Is it worth a resto shammy looking into having a bit more spell crit on their gear? I am not 100% sure if spell crit effects healing these days but having this mana return on water shield for a crit could we sacrifice a bit of mp5 for spell crit?

with the change to water shield. it makes crit alot more tasty. not to mention the Ancestral awaking proc relies on crit heals

With the effects of Tidal Waves I will make my "SH#$ hits the fan spell" as use my trinket, cast rip tide, cast natures swiftness then chain heal followed by healing wave spams.

NOTE: with my highly advanced macro writing and keyboard skills this will still result in we whispering people half the time with the spell.

I got a shaman, and plan on being enhancement at 80, I was considering going a conventional enhancement spec, but would really really like to test out something like this.

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hEohq0zZhhxcoxdAIkhbox

Yes, I didn't take Lava Lash...and yes I probably should, but I think the 5% crit out of Call of Thunder with Maelstrom Weapon (and also picking up the 100% increased critical damage) can make this spec potentially a very high dps spec...I would have to run some comparisons with both specs and some adjustments etc. (i.e. maybe less points in unleashed rage, if a DK is present...since I heard they can cause the same buff).  Such adjustments would be including Lava Lash, which would be a clear dps upgrade to the shaman themself.

I also miss out on wolves with this spec...which is a bit sad Sad

Ah well, I suppose I can do some testing once I level my shaman...after my paladin and priest lol
