Anyone notice how many references there are made to movies, games and other such thing in Wow? and in particularly in TBC. Examples such as;

Quest names;
Once were warriors. (from the movie of the same name)
Behind Enemy Lines (from the movie with the same name)

Items;
the cubes from the rogue consotium guys in Mana Crypts (the puzzle cube from Hellraiser) Thanks Sheal for picking this one up.

NPC's
Eyonix ; Inkeeper in Netherstorn (named after the forum moderator)
Floyd Pinkus; Innkeeper in Netherstorm (Pink Floyd - the band)

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to start a thread, and see how many obscure references that we can come across.

There's a level 30 warrior quest that you need to do to get berzerker stance, it involves killing hordes of subordinates and then finally a mob called Big Will. This may be a reference to Kill Bill.

There are two people, dwarf and a human, in marshalls refuge in Ungoro. The human is in green clothes and the dwarf is in red. If you rearrange their names you get Mario and Luigi.

There is a quest in Terrokar that involves killing big worms that pop out of the ground. The reward is a 'Reverend Mother's Crysknife', an obvious reference to the book/movie 'Dune'. Also, the big worms are obviously a reference to the shai'hulud sand worms in the same movie.

Not a movie reference, but in the lower city inn there is a NPC called Haris Pilton, Socialite.

This is kind of related, the sounds the peons make when you click on them are the EXACT same sounds from Warcraft 3 when you play as Orcs and keep clicking on the peons, they used the same sound files.

Shado "Fitz" Farstrider in Nagrand may be a reference to Fitzchivalry "Fitz" Farseer from the Farseer and Tawny man Trilogies by Robin Hobb
