G'day roos - an odd issue has recently started on my main machine..... snow

What happens is that i'll be playing wow happily for an hour or three and suddenly the screen will go black, and windows will report that the graphics driver has stopped working.
i can continue to play wow, but the whole screen is now covered with artifacts - snow if you will ....
a restart sees the machine fine for a while

My Rig

AMD Phenom 965 (Quad Core)
4GB Ram
Windows 7 Home Premium (x86)
nVidia 8600GT Graphics card (Forceware 270.51)

I've replaced the graphics driver with both Windows and nVidia Reference ones.

RivaTuner hardware monitor reports my GPU COre is hovering around 46' Idle and 60' under load.

i have ordered a new graphics card (it was cheap and a LOT better than the one i have now!!) and I"m hoping that this will fix it, but has anyone experienced anything like this before ??

its VERY annoying in the middle of an instance, i feel like i'm letting people down by having to drop out ....

Cheers

Doesn't look too hot, so I would guess your graphics card is just plain fragged.

RAM mismatch or heat?  Sounds like you have refreshed/updated drivers.  Check hardware forums for similar / same symptoms?

Good luck
