Ho Hum, still no phone, latest update is that it MAY get installed next Friday, the 1st of March, fingers crossed.  Anyway, I'm still coming back, just have to be patient.  Hope you are all giving the instances hell and playing nicely with each other Smiley  Looks like i'll just have to go home tonight and enjoy my freshly installed foxtel instead Smiley

Oh look, it's the ninth of March and still no net!

Grumpy?  Yes I am!

I have a latest date of the 21st from Telstra but might be before that.

Blackboard should send that message to Telstra not me Pre!

Mr Squiggle says " Upside down miss Jane!"

Of course once I have the phone line I will then probably have speed/quality issues with the broadband that comes over it according to locals.

Sigh, will see you soon.

(I hope!)

(The withdrawal symptoms are bad, I'm spending time with my wife and daughter, going out and having people over.  It's getting serious!)

I'd recommend speaking to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman & making a complaint, especially if you still have no phone line. I did this a few years back when it took Telstra 2 months to connect a phone line in Sydney & got a $1500 credit on my phone bill. The time you've been waiting just seems excessive, even for a regional area, so have a look at www.tio.com.au & see if you can get any help that way. Might also help speed up the process once you've got them on the case.

I hear you Philos and normally I'd do that but it seems my landlord may have been the one who actually caused the original problem.  I have now taken matters into my own hands and the connection for the phone line will be done on Friday morning the 18th of March......Hooray!

But......... having now called iiNet and told them, hey we will finally have a phone line on Friday, they are now saying there are no ADSL ports available.

AAAAAAAGGGGGHGHHHHHH!

This may be an error....................or not, they told us in January that there were 2 ports available and we are the only new people in this very small village.  Will find out the answer to that on Friday or Saturday.

If this advice is correct we may have to go wireless instead which seems to be the most reliable option here anyway, which makes me grumpy because I could have done that two m onths ago.

Anyway, with every day it gets closer.......................

No really.....................

It does.

Ok, I will,

But,

Does that mean it will be slow, unreliable, cause occasional wipes, explain every phone call I will have for 10 minutes before I have it, or wash my car in a mankini?

Happy birthday old fella  Wink

Ok, I have ordered my wireless internet and the bits should arrive sometime this week, so a return is not too far away (fingers crossed).

Looking forward to seeing you all online very soon.
