Well, it's been going for a few days now.

Post here what you think of the new expension.

Some initial thoughts are:

quests lines, especially in Vash are very scripted.

cut scenes are nice and even includiong party members in the cut scenes

And a thought from Gobble - "New feature in Cata!  Each quest giver now comes with it's own D%$#head standing on top of them"

Really didn't like the early stages of Vashj'ir, but that may have been related to the sheer amount of people around. I remember having a much better experience in the early LK areas. I'm interested to know if Hyjal is any better.

Vash didn't do it for me. Underwater, murlocs, naga (bloody shiny fish scales and fish oil!!). All stuff I don't like! Seahorse was cool though.

Questing appears quite linear. Less initial quests, more long quest chains. Not necessarily a bad thing. Makes it easier to do all the quests in a zone when you dont have to do a lot of exploring to find the extra  yellow !'s.

Flying in Az is just ace. Swooping through the Undercity never felt cooler. Will be interesting to see how city attacks work. Do attackers get dismounted by flying guards, or kite past them straight to the faction leader?

Questing seems much the same, the plot and quest chains I haven't found all that interesting, which was a bit sad after i made my undead alt recently and found the story very entertaining and enjoyable. There is some good fun stuff in there too of course. Love all the references to Indiana Jones in Uldum. Love the 'Joust' tribute in Hyjal. Hyjal was pretty good overall. Deepholme and Uldum I have both enjoyed a lot. Deepholme just looks really cool. Uldum, well I like egyptian mythology, so it strikes a chord.

Crafting gets a big thumbs up if just for the multiple gains when crafting something that uses less common mats. That is frikken cool. Wonder how much it will actually help towards maxing it though, or if they have made it quick to gain early stages and made the harder stages worse.

Dungeons have been a lot of fun. I've only done the first four but they all have interesting and challenging fights. This is good. They all look pretty cool as well.

And yeah... All the knobs sitting on their mounts completely covering flight masters, quest givers, prof trainers etc... Garrrr...!

Lol, official Bliz patchnote sums it up...

"It is no longer possible for an ill-mannered person of the opposing faction to one-shot a flight trainer in Stormwind or Orgrimmar, which in turn made the 500 players standing on top of the flight trainer with their mammoths really sad."
