A Progress Rank player is expected to ?actively raiding each 2 week period, INCLUDING gearing and non progress nights. Failure to attend or notify of absence will see u moved to the raider rank?.

What is required to maintain progress rank? I would suggest 3 progress nights and 1 gearing run per fortnight on their Progress Rank toon.  I suggest it is a fixed two week period rather than a rolling period.

Recording. we need an Attendance Management Officer.
Player is classed as having attended if they are in the raid and at the door at 8:55pm or at the time they have advised the raid leader/ class leader they will be there.(Some wording about advising late attendance will be required.) Attendance list should be published in the forums. How do we do this? Is there a macro that can copy raid group to a word or excel doc so it can be posted? Mortal Wombats have a web based raid signup thing but I haven?t looked into how it works and how applicable it would be.

Progress rank toons on gearing runs. Based on raiding nights post a progress rank toon (at this stage) only has two nights a fortnight to tick off their gearing run attendance. What if they attend an impromptu guild raid on Sat or Mon on their main? I believe this should count but needs to be captured and managed. To get credit for this the progress rank player needs to either advise the Attendance Management Officer an officer in the raid who can verify their attendance or provide the raid ID. The raid needs to be 75% Flat Roos, and they need to have genuinely contributed not just come in for one boss or trash and buggered off. However this too may be a judgment call as it may have been a fail raid if they hadn?t come in for that one boss. Again a lot of management here to make sure this is recorded.

Again this needs to be managed and I would suggest we have three Attendance Management Officer as minimum (not the raid leader on the night) to make sure it is done.

A progression raider is expected to be active period.

Attendance wise (per fortnight):
1x 25 + 2x10
or
3x 10.

Attendance wise on general runs will be a complicated point if we start recruiting.
It might be a better idea to leave this to a "we will see basis", if someone is clearly avoiding General runs we will take it on a case by case basis.
However the idea of a progression team is that they are to progress the guild, they have the ability to do so ect, they should not be penalized for not going on general runs.

Attendance is recorded if the person is online at the start of invites and in the raid by the time invites close, with full consumables. this can be recorded on the website via a simple form, ark can even make a very small mod that records everyone in the raid and i can make an application that will upload it.

this isnt having a go at you dah, its an attempt to cut off any attempts at not having progression raiders never turn up to gearing runs (just one is fine) - think of it as their tax for being in a raiding guild with very lax attendance requirements.  this mostly doesnt impact multiple toon people either.

progressing the guild is not leaving the others in your dust - progressing the guild is helping others get more gear - ie gearing runs.

prog runs do not help the rest of the guild members if the progression team never goes on a gearing/normal run.  they may as well not be in the guild because thats about how helpful they'll be when the rest of the guild tries to do something.

considering whos already in our progression team i dont see it anywhere close to being a problem right now.

but new people are people we dont know (and if we recruit then were bound to get some from real raiding guilds who want a "break") so the last thing we want is for any progression raider to become selfishly elitist and not deign to go on gearing runs because the rest of us are just "shitty" raiders.

if we want to bill them as being the elite for their ego boost, thats fine (although i think its a bit dangerous), so long as their payment is a begrudged gearing run or two, they can think whatever they like.

if you want this to work then any elitism really needs to be stopped before it can even begin to happen or we may as well let the progression team bugger off and form their own guild - which will probably happen unless we make sure theyre always connected to the rest of the guild.

also as we've got more than 10 prog raiders (at least i think we do) it doesnt seem to be a problem right now as they end up in the non-prog run - if they started ditching all together because they didnt get into the prog run and we cant get a normal run going then the shit will hit the fan by the non-prog raiders and you'll get a lot of backlash.

sorry for the ramble.  i'd like to see us with "better" raiders, i just dont want them to then bugger off or start lording it over the other guilders.
