Review Saturday raid status ? we have had pitiful attendance on Saturday of late and I suggest if we want raiders to have a WoW ? Life balance then make Saturday a non progression 10 man, 5 man night or even PUG night. That way our party guys can go out with their Shorties and hang with their Homies.
Sounds a good idea, have progression nights as Wednesday thursday friday and possibly sunday as a filler.
Main Progress nights based on current attendance are Wed-Thurs. Frid is ?progression clean-up? or non progression. Set aside Sunday for non progression. (NOTE if we set up a progress team then these nights may change as people make themselves available)
We need more than two progression nights a week. There is nothing stopping other guilders running ToC/whatever on nights that progression is run. The idea of the progression team is that it sits out from the core of the guild.
Do we want to run on a one or two week raid rotation calendar?
A one week calendar is best, keeping in a set rotation.
Do we want to use the raid extension feature?
Not until the majority of gear from the early bossess is being DE'd and the need for frost badges drops (first 4 can be done in 40 mins, thats 8 frost badges)
25 man on Wed between ICC and TOGC
Now that people have started to get some decent gear, ToGC is becoming a "fun run" the guild will benifit alot more from ICC+
Note that that may mean only one 10 man prog night.
The ideal format is 2x10man progressions per week and 1(2) 25x progression per week.
The reason for this is that 10mans are easier to manage and allow people to learn the "inns and outs" of each fight in an easier setting than 25.
I feel that 10mans should take priority until 10man content is on farm. As did with ToC.
Having the progress raids finish on Frid means people are free to PUG those on the weekend.
Should this read as started? We are not up to finishing ICC yet. But the majority should be well into it by this stage, ie, 25xWednesday, 10xThursday/Friday Maybe a 25 on sunday.
On Non Progress nights / Gearing runs (happy to go with other names so it doesn?t sound like a mental institution excursion)
General Runs - Again. These can be run at the same time as progression runs.
It is important we foster these as they are our progression raiders of the future.
I dont completely agree with this. There are alot of regular "raiders" that are not progression material. Gear doesnt make someone a progression raider.
. We replenish ranks by either recruiting or developing our own
We will be actively recruiting to fill 2/3 ICC 10 teams as there are not enough "raid smarts" people in the guild to make this progression raiding work.
Progression raiders are expected to bring a Main to these on a defined amount of time.
While this may be required for class balance, i dont think it's the best idea to make it mandatory as a "Must bring a main". The most complicated part of raiding is the mechanics. Progression raiders would have a good understanding of most fights and be able to perform exceptional on alts.
