Lots of guides are out there for each class suggesting what talents you should choose and how to gear your character but I thought it might be nice if we had some on our forums.  I couldn't find it but if it does exist I apologise for duplication.  I am interested to know what stats other healing spec priests have tried to maximise and in what order.

For me, at the moment I am assuming this is the order but I hope to be corrected by others more knowledgable than myself:

+Healing
Intel
+MP5
Spirit

Interested in your thoughts,

Thanks.

I have not looked at a priest since Wrath came out, but unless something has changed dramatically I would have thought spirit more important than MP5.

With talents spirit at least used to add to you spell power and while casting mana regen.

Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is the probable reason why so few engage in it.

Depends on your spec. See this thread on elitist jerks.

To put it very roughly:

For disc - intellect, spellpower, crit, haste, spirit, Mp5
For holy - intellect, spirit, spellpower, crit, haste, Mp5

What Star said ^^,

Although as Holy I would pick Spirit before Int.
With talents you gain an addiyion 5% spirit, which then again converts to
some extra spell power and not to mention the additional regen.
Kind of a triple whammy.

The way gear is itemised though you are practically never asked to choose between iSP, int and spirit,
the gear either has SP, int and spirit or just SP and int.

So if gear has spirit on it, pick it up, it will be good for you.
Gem for SP early on until you are comfortable handling the damage in heroics, then the rest is really a preference.

Point for point spirit was the best stat for Holy Priests pre Ulduar.
Spirit based regen got nerfed a bit in 3.1 so not sure if that is still the case.

Did some reading, and yes spirit not so hawt any more, but still good.

But LOL....
"Rough goals for the start of Ulduar.25 are to have 2800 spellpower, 26-28% crit, and 12% haste, along with ~ 500 Mp5 I5SR fully raid-buffed"

Can anyone say they are close to those stats with pre ulduar gear? Elitist jerks indeed.
